This is my monthly summary post with high points of the month, not-so-high-points and what’s next for Soul Travel Blog.

Recapping April.

Somehow it always felt a lot easier to write monthly recaps when I was constantly on-the-move.

Because the truth is, isn’t it always easier to write when there’s a flurry of excitement going on – new places, new people, different cultures, different scenes from week to week?

But the other truth is, that is not life all the time. Not for most of us at least. Just as there will be times of adventure, travel, and expansion, there will also be times of staying in one place, or even feeling like we are staying still. And that’s how I’ve been feeling this month – even as I turn 34 today and look back on the last year, and take stock of quite how many amazing travel and life experiences I’ve had over the last year!

Soul Travel Blog April 2017 Summary

Exploring London’s beautiful Notting Hill area in Spring – thanks to my friend Alex of The Mindful Mermaid for this and the main header pic of this post!

If I’d told myself one year ago that this would be where I am now, I wouldn’t quite have believed it.

Going back to April, April in short has been a month of staying in the UK, sitting at my laptop like a crazy person, getting life admin done, and trying to move as many projects forward as possible.  If you’re a believer in astrology, you’ll know that April has also been Mercury Retrograde. That dreaded time of the year where communications, technology and related things seem to stall, stagnate, or not go as planned.

All I know is that I can’t remember the last time I’ve had so many problems with emails and communications going astray and being misunderstood!

In the travel sense, April has also been another month where I’ve been able to explore more of the beautiful UK & London!

April Summary Soul Travel Blog

The Last Pub… views out to Anglesey, Wales.

Where I’ve been in April.

  • London, England – exploring new and old corners of it, and generally catching up on blog content and working! I also got to check out London’s “greenest” (and very hip-and-happening) hotel, and attend my first Traverse conference – a get together of some 400 bloggers and travel companies over a long weekend in London.
  • North Wales, United Kingdom – to visit family, check out some castles, go on some long country walks, climb a hill (my calf muscles loved it afterwards lol) and go on a very scenic train ride!

April Highlight.

Getting to explore Snowdonia National Park in North Wales in the most amazing spring sunshine. For those of you that know the UK, you’ll know that the weather (and particularly in Wales) is sh*t  unpredictable, it was all the prettier for being able to see all of the stunning mountains and forests against a clear blue sky!

Nothing like a good Castle to keep the English out 😉 – Caernarfon Castle, Wales.

April not-so-Highlight.

Travel plans not working out / getting delayed. There are some weeks (or months) when everything seems to fall miraculously into place. This was not April for me! There have been some frustrating moments with plans and enquiries going nowhere, but I’ve come to realise that that’s just part of the game.

Thanks to the following bloggers for also featuring my words in their posts this month:

Instagram Post of the Month.

Sunrise Yoga (literally) at the Sky Gardens in London in April.

It was worth the early start at 5am – not only was the view from the sky gardens (where the yoga class was) at the top amazing, but the experience of walking through the streets of the city (financial district) of London so early was wonderful.

It’s not often you get to see London quiet, calm, and looking a bit like a ghost town!

Where Next?

I’m continuing my temporary residence in London for May to keep the work fairies happy, and beyond that I’m excited that Iran, Spain and the Netherlands are on the cards for June / July! So watch this space for more on those soon. As usual I’ll be sharing my travels with you in my blog posts and on Facebook and Instagram.

Thank You for Reading!

As you know, without you I wouldn’t be here writing this. Every comment, like, share and piece of feedback matters to me and I appreciate it. Thank you!
